Housing Support Worker – Homelessness & Complex Needs
📍 Location: Colchester, Essex
💰 Salary: £24,326 per annum + £73.89 per sleep-in (up to 2 per week)
🕓 Hours: 37.5 per week (including evenings, weekends & bank holidays)

Minerva Recruitment, on behalf of our client, is recruiting for a Housing Support Worker to join a dedicated supported housing service in Colchester.
This service supports adults who have experienced homelessness and may be facing challenges such as mental health issues, substance misuse, or past trauma. You will play a key role in helping residents build confidence, develop life skills, and work towards living independently.
What You will Be Doing
Provide tailored one-to-one support and create person-centred plans with residents.
Help individuals access healthcare, benefits, education, and training.
Support with practical day-to-day tasks such as budgeting, tenancy management, and maintaining their accommodation.
Encourage engagement with community and recovery services.
Work in partnership with other professionals and record progress accurately.
Take part in a rolling rota that includes evenings, weekends, and up to two sleep-ins per week.About You
You will be someone who:
Has experience supporting adults with complex needs, homelessness, or mental health issues.
Is patient, compassionate, and confident working in challenging situations.
Understands safeguarding and takes a trauma-informed approach.
Has good communication, organisation, and IT skills.
Enjoys making a positive difference in people’s lives.What You will Get

Sleep-in allowance of £73.89 per night (up to two per week)
25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
