We are looking for Management Accountant to join our key account teams at Thermatic Technical FM. As a Thermatic Management Accountant, you are responsible for leading the production of timely, accurate, and insightful financial reporting while managing the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable and payroll functions across the Group. Thermatic Technical FM provide complete nationwide coverage, across the full spectrum of Hard FM services to large, commercial clients. Our team of mobile engineers are supported by the account teams at Head Office providing both reactive breakdown and planned maintenance services to our clients. Opportunities to work remotely working are available, however the role requires some office presence is required. Regular hours of work - Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm - 40 hour working week. Opportunities to work flexibly are available. Required Knowledge, Skills, & Behaviours: In-depth understanding of management accounting, financial analysis, and business partnering. Solid working knowledge of AP processes, ledger reconciliation, and supplier management. Good understanding of UK payroll processes, PAYE, pensions, statutory deductions, and HMRC reporting. Awareness of financial controls, compliance standards, and reporting frameworks (e.g., UK GAAP, VAT). Familiarity with finance systems (e.g., Sage, COINS, Dynamics) and reporting platforms. Part-qualified or newly qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) Line management or supervisory experience in finance Proficiency in accounting and payroll systems Experience in FM, construction, or service-based businesses (desirable) Responsibilities include: Preparing and delivering monthly management accounts, including journals, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations, and commentary. Analysing performance against budget/forecast, identifying and explaining variances to operational stakeholders. Leading budgeting and forecasting processes for assigned entities or departments, liaising with internal stakeholders. Managing and overseeing the accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, supplier reconciliations, and payments. Overseeing payroll administration, ensuring timely and compliant payroll processing in line with contractual obligations and HMRC requirements. Ensuring appropriate controls are in place for both AP and payroll processes, identifying and mitigating risk. Maintaining fixed asset registers, depreciation schedules, and lease accounting records. Producing cash flow forecasts and supporting cash and liquidity planning across the business. Providing regular financial reports and insights to operational and commercial managers. Managing and developing the AP and payroll teams, conducting regular reviews, objective setting, and performance development. Supporting internal and external audits and ensure ongoing compliance with financial regulations, VAT, pensions, and payroll legislation. Championing process improvement and digitisation across all areas of responsibility. Collaborating with HR, commercial, and operations teams to ensure financial practices are aligned with broader business needs. Following all requirements and procedures as laid out, and participate actively in the continuous improvement of, the IMS.
