Forensic Psychologist HMP Ashfield Full Time, Permanent Salary - £45,000 per annum pro rota Here at Serco, we have an exciting opportunity for a Forensic Psychologist to take a pivotal role in the continued development of the new Democratic Therapeutic Community (DTC) within our secure establishment. You will contribute to the development, delivery, and evaluation of high-quality psychological services, supporting both the DTC and the wider Rehabilitative Culture across the prison. As a key member of the psychological services team, you will provide clinical expertise in assessing criminogenic needs, monitoring behavioural change through treatment, and ensuring the DTC meets high standards of therapeutic integrity. You will also play a vital role in promoting positive cultural change and providing professional support to colleagues and trainees. You will be responsible for the line management and support of Forensic Psychologists in Training and the supervision of DTC staff, ensuring that all our work adheres to a code of conduct compliance and BPS and HCPC guidelines. You’ll also: · Deliver psychological assessments, formulations, and treatment evaluations · Facilitate group and community meetings to promote therapeutic engagement · Monitor behavioural change and contribute to multidisciplinary risk management · Provide consultancy and psychological input to prison-wide initiatives and meetings · Contribute to research, audit, and quality assurance within the DTC · Act as a professional witness in parole hearing and promote rehabilitative culture across the establishment This is a role that offers variety and contributes enormously to the important work of reintegrating offenders back into society. What you’ll need to do the role: You are an experienced Forensic Psychologist with a passion for rehabilitation and therapeutic practice in secure environments. You bring strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills, alongside a commitment to ethical and evidence-based practice. Essential Criteria · Chartered status with the British Psychological Society (BPS) · Registration as a Forensic Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) · Significant post-qualification experience in secure or forensic settings · Strong leadership and interpersonal skills · Commitment to professional development and reflective practice Desirable · Registered on the BPS Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors (RAAPS) · Experience of working within or establishing a Democratic Therapeutic Community Why Serco: A place you can make an impact - Using specialist behavioural analysis you’ll contribute to the reintegration of ex-offenders back into society, helping them to address the factors that influence offending behaviour.
