Are you passionate about cloud technology and keen to build a strong career in infrastructure engineering? At Heywood, we’re looking for a motivated Cloud Hosting Engineer who enjoys solving problems, learning new technologies, and supporting reliable, secure cloud platforms.
This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience across both private and public cloud environments, working alongside experienced engineers while developing your technical skills in a supportive and collaborative team.
The Role
As a Cloud Hosting Engineer at Heywood, you will help support, maintain, and improve our cloud hosting platforms. You will be involved in the day-to-day running of our private cloud, while also gaining exposure to how it integrates with public cloud services. The role offers plenty of opportunity to learn, contribute to projects, and grow your confidence in cloud infrastructure.
What you’ll do:
* Remotely monitor and maintain private cloud infrastructure for optimal performance
* Swiftly respond to and resolve system alerts, collaborating with internal teams and datacentre partners
* Support resolving customer issues, escalating issues where necessary and responding within agreed SLAs
* Alongside a team of experts, you will provide support and guidance, including explaining technical concepts to non-technical people
* Assist with the design and implementation of infrastructure changes and new cloud projects
* Manage daily system operations, including OS patching, upgrades, monitoring, and backup processes
* Conduct regular Disaster Recovery testing and ensure data integrity
* Maintain stringent security and confidentiality, adhering to industry standards
* Proactively identify and address potential system downtime
