Job Purpose As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in empowering individuals with learning disabilities to lead safe, fulfilling, and dignified lives. You will provide high-quality care and support in line with individual care plans, whether in supported accommodation or in the individual's own home. Key Responsibilities 1. Personal Care & Support * Assist individuals with daily personal care tasks including bathing, dressing, toileting, and hygiene. * Support individuals with medication administration in accordance with training and care plans. * Encourage and support independence wherever possible. 2. Social and Leisure Activities * Facilitate and support participation in community, social, and leisure activities. * Encourage hobbies, interests, and engagement in meaningful routines. * Accompany individuals to appointments, day services, and outings when required. 3. Household and Daily Living Support * Assist with light domestic tasks including meal preparation, laundry, and shopping. * Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment is maintained. * Promote the individual’s involvement in household decisions and routines. Training and Compliance Requirements Essential: * Moving and Handling Practical Certificate * Medication Administration Practical Certificate * Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Certificate – Registered on the Update Service
