Mechanical Design Engineer
Jackson Hogg is delighted to be recruiting for a well-established manufacturing company, with the appointment of a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their engineering team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated engineer to design and develop new and improved mechanical products for the fluid and gas systems industry, contributing to innovative solutions across a range of industrial and commercial applications. The role focuses on delivering high-quality designs that meet performance, safety, and reliability standards while supporting business growth and project scopes.
Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer:
* Design and develop mechanical products to meetinternal and regulatory standards.
* Deliver engineering solutions anhd projects on time and within budget
* Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, and Innovation
* Engage with customers to understand unmet needs and define new product opportunities
* Coordinate design deliverables and make technical decisions impacting product integrity and innovation
* Mentor junior engineers and conduct peer reviews
Requirements of the Mechanical Design Engineer:
* Beng/MEng/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline, or equivalent work experince.
* Proven experince in a mechanical design engineering role within manufacturing, focusing on mechanical design modifications and new product development
* Proficient in 2D/3D CAD (Inventor preferred), DFMEA, and technical documentation
* Knowledge of industry standards and pressure equipment codes (ASME, PED) - advantageous
* Experience with pressurised systems or fluids - advantageous
* Strong problem-solving skills, self-starter, and capable of managing multiple projects
* Excellent communication skills for internal collaboration and customer-facing interactions
This Mechanical Design Engineer role is Full time & Permanent.
Working Hours – 37.5 hours/week, Flexible working hours with 12:30pm finish on a Friday.
