The role of an Intelligence Officer involves gathering, developing, evaluating and sharing information to meet operational objectives. You will need to be able to develop relationships with others to collect information and exchange intelligence. Job description As an Intelligence Officer you will be expected to undertake the following tasks: Make effective decisions, evaluate and provide recommendations to share intelligence and drive operational activity. Undertake an investigative role by gathering information within ethical guidelines and best practice standards and in accordance with the relevant legislation, to meet operational objectives. Build and maintain a network of internal and external partners to respond to requests for information and intelligence exchange Develop relationships and understanding of work streams with colleagues and team members, to further operational awareness of roles and to support partnership working. Maintain information on the intelligence system. Facilitate information and intelligence sharing to relevant parties in line with confidentiality, sensitivity and duty of care policies and relevant legislation - to achieve shared objectives with our internal and external partners. About the team It's an exciting time to join the Intelligence team at Companies House. The team consists of a number of people with a variety of skills focussing on ensuring an accurate register and preventing companies from carrying out unlawful activities or facilitating others to do so. As our Intelligence department continues to grow and develop, we have lots of opportunities available. To be eligible for this role you also need to meet our Nationality requirements which are outlined below. Additionally, successful candidates must meet the security requirements for Security Clearance (SC) before they can be appointed. To gain (SC) you will need to have been a UK resident for a minimum of 3 years out of the last 5 years. Further information can be found below. Where you will be working You will be aligned to our Belfast office, where you will be expected to attend on a regular basis. We are currently using a hybrid approach to the way we work which provides opportunities for you to be adaptable in the way you work so that you can achieve a healthy balance between your work and home life. The degree of choice you have will depend on your role and your day-to-day work activities. Your manager will agree regular patterns of attendance with you, however you may be required to make yourself available to attend the office more frequently when required to meet business needs. Working Hours Due to the nature of the role and team structure, this is only a full-time position of 37 hours per week. Person specification We are looking for individuals with practical experience of the following: The ability to be adaptable and flexible in line with workloads Confidence in using information to make informed decisions; Research skills - gathering information from a wide range of sources with an excellent eye for detail; Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to think outside the box Strong writing, drafting, and presentation skills Experience in Microsoft Applications especially Excel and Word Developing relationships with stakeholders The ability to work alone and as part of a team It is desirable but not essential that you have experience of working in an intelligence environment - preferably in an enforcement environment. Sift Process Well carry out a sift of applications. We may raise the score required at sift stage to progress to interview if we receive a high number of applications.
