Offer description

What's in it for you?

Looking for a role where you're not just reacting to breakdowns but actively making things better - and getting paid properly for it?

This is your opportunity to join a well-run site that values its engineers, gives you time to do things right, and trusts you to make an impact. With a proper shift pattern and a strong hourly rate, this is a role designed to reward both your skill and your effort.

£23.04 per hour

Continental shift pattern - 4 on, 4 off (6am-6pm / 6pm-6am rotating)

Time, support and tools to improve plant performance - not just firefight

A well-structured site with strong health & safety and engineering standards

Investment in training, systems, and CMMS (Shire)

Additional benefits: pension, paid holidays, sick pay scheme, and more

What you'll be doing

You'll join a cross-functional engineering team supporting high-speed production lines in a 24/7 environment. It's a hands-on, multi-skilled maintenance role where you'll be trusted to diagnose, repair, and improve - and work closely with operations to drive efficiency.

This includes:

Responding to breakdowns and completing planned preventative maintenance

Supporting continuous improvement and reliability projects

Monitoring line performance and identifying root causes of issues

Working on electrical, mechanical, and process systems

Maintaining records via CMMS (Shire) and supporting with compliance and safety

What we're looking for

You're a qualified engineer (electrical or mechanical) who's worked in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You know how to fault-find, fix, and suggest improvements - and you take pride in working safely, accurately, and with minimal supervision.

Required:

NVQ Level 3, ONC or BTEC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Previous experience in a multi-skilled engineering or maintenance role

Practical understanding of safety systems and production processes

Ability to use Microsoft Office and mobile reporting systems

Strong communication, ownership and fault-finding skills

Desirable:

18th Edition Wiring Regulations

Experience with boilers, compressed air, or HVAC systems

Familiarity with CMMS systems (Shire ideal but not essential)

Location & Hours

This is a full-time, permanent role based at a large-scale manufacturing site in Middlewich, Cheshire.
Shifts are 4 on, 4 off (rotating days and nights, 6am-6pm / 6pm-6am).
