My client specialises in the design, build, and installation of bespoke factory automation systems and machinery, control systems, vision inspection, plastic container handling, and robotics. The business unit is responsible for the internal supply of bespoke metal fabricated components and parts.
The role:
They have invested heavily in their new metal fabrication unit, which includes a 3.2m x 125T press brake, 3kW fiber laser, and welding bays. You will join a small team responsible for running and manufacturing the production of parts. They are seeking someone to support the metal fabrication side of the business, including welding (both MIG & TIG) and operating/running a brake press. There is also an opportunity to develop skills further and learn to operate and run CNCs & Laser equipment, should this interest you. A flexible, positive attitude and willingness to upskill are highly valued.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, able to think and plan independently, tenacious, punctual, and capable of managing their own time effectively.

Key responsibilities include:
* Ensuring safe and efficient operation of the brake press
* Performing welding tasks
* Delivering work to high standards
* Interpreting technical drawings and documents
* Asking questions and making suggestions confidently
* Advising on process improvements and supplier selection
* Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards
* Logging projects accurately with timesheet reporting
* Completing administrative tasks aligned with production
To excel in this role, ideally you will:
* Have experience in fab shop environments and processes
* Be a fully competent welder and fabricator
* Be experienced with brake press operation
* Work well autonomously and as part of a team
* Possess good emotional intelligence, be friendly and hardworking
* Have a desire to learn and improve
* Know when to escalate issues
* Maintain a positive outlook
* Be fluent in English (additional languages are a plus)
* Have a proactive, 'can-do' attitude (team-oriented, no room for divas!)
* Possess good communication skills
Compensation and benefits:
* £18 per hour (depending on experience)
* Potential overtime at 1.5x during busy periods

Work hours:
* Monday-Thursday: 08:00 - 17:00
