Science Teacher for a secondary school in NG20
Position: Full time, starting ASAP. It might turn into a permanent position for the right candidate
Hours: 8.30-16.00 term time only
Start date: ASAP
Pay: 180-200£ a day ( depending on qualifications and experience)
Responsibilities
* Science Instruction
o Deliver dynamic and engaging science lessons to secondary school students.
o Encourage students to explore and understand scientific concepts, fostering curiosity and critical thinking.
* Curriculum Development
o Develop comprehensive lesson plans, assessments, and teaching materials in line with the curriculum.
o Tailor instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
* Student Engagement
o Create an enriching and inclusive classroom atmosphere where students are motivated to participate actively in their scientific journey.
o Support students in developing strong scientific skills and knowledge.
* Assessment and Progress Tracking
o Regularly assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback to students and parents.
o Collaborate with colleagues to analyse data and implement strategies for improvement.
* Professional Collaboration
o Work closely with the Science Department to enhance the overall quality of science education.
o Share best practices and innovative teaching techniques with colleagues.
Qualifications
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is mandatory. The school will consider ECT, PGCE and FE instructors for this position
* A degree in a relevant science field.
* Proven experience as a Science Teacher in a secondary school setting.
* Strong subject knowledge and a passion for science.
* Exceptional communication skills and classroom management abilities.
* Dedication to nurturing students' academic growth and scientific curiosity.
