We are seeking a dynamic Social Worker to join our Families First Service team in Stretford, UK. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a salary between £37,280 and £42,839 annually. What you will do:
- Provide a purposeful, professional social work service within a multi-agency partnership approach to children in need and their families, including the assessment of their needs in accordance with statutory requirements and service procedures.
- Understand and identify pathways for children and their families to ensure they receive the appropriate level of support.
- Use the threshold agreement to identify risk and support partners in managing risk to safeguard children effectively.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments with families to understand needs, risks, and protective factors, creating clear analysis and plans for support.
- Work directly with families to apply your social work knowledge and skills to improve their circumstances and outcomes sustainably.
- Maintain up-to-date and child-focused records, ensuring clarity between factual information and professional judgment.
- Attend and represent the local authority in multi-agency meetings, reviews, and conferences as needed.
- Maintain professional registration with Social Work England and engage in continuous professional development to uphold your registration.
- Collaborate with colleagues and external agencies to ensure the implementation and recording of plans for children.
- Engage in supervision with practice managers and leads, and mentor or supervise junior colleagues and students.
Requirements of this Social Worker role:
- A Social Work Qualification or equivalent.
- Understanding of relevant legislation.
- Registered or eligible for registration with Social Work England.
- At least 2 years’ post-qualifying experience working with children and young people in a statutory setting.
