THE VACANCY Director for Neighbourhoods Hours: Full time Contract: Permanent Salary: Up to £130,000 per annum plus benefits Location: Dudley As Director for Neighbourhoods, you will lead some of the council’s most visible, valued, and wide-ranging functions: - Waste & recycling, energy from waste plant management, household waste, commercial/traded and recycling provision Street cleansing, street furniture maintenance and public realm strategy Grounds maintenance, nature reserves, parks and countryside, rights of way, green care, open spaces and tree management Community development & empowerment, community Safety, ASB, travellers’ services Leisure, libraries, community access points, historic and community assets and cultural events Visitor economy, bereavement and registration Out-of-hours emergency Response Your leadership will have a direct impact on residents’ day-to-day lives, creating pride in place, safer streets, greener spaces, and vibrant communities. A strategic thinker who can develop modern, community-first services backed by robust performance frameworks.
