Test Lead (Data Specialist)
Contract: 9-12 Months
Day Rate: (Inside IR35)
Location: Sheffield (Hybrid - office requirements to be confirmed)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Test Lead with strong data expertise to support a major data transformation programme. This role offers an opportunity to lead quality assurance across complex data environments, ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and performance of critical data platforms.
The successful candidate will play a key role in defining the testing strategy and overseeing execution across data migrations, warehousing solutions, and reporting layers.
Key Responsibilities
Testing Strategy & Leadership - Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies covering data migration, integration, and reporting layers.
Technical Oversight - Lead testing across data warehouse solutions and database automation to ensure high performance and stability.
Data Validation - Ensure data integrity across multiple data layers, from ingestion through to reporting outputs.
Quality Assurance - Establish robust testing frameworks for large-scale database and data platform environments.
Stakeholder Collaboration - Work closely with developers, product owners, and project stakeholders to align testing with delivery milestones.Key skills
Hands on experience with Data validation and reconciliation/ ETL testing / Data Migration
Microsoft Fabric knowledge and hands on with Lakehouse architecture and Integrations
Understanding of Power BI
Experience in validating pipelines built with Azure Data Factory and orchestration
Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server
Testing across Data warehouses
Experience with database or ETL automation toolsDesirable
Experience working on large-scale data transformation or migration programmes.
Background in financial services or regulated environments (not essential).This is a great opportunity to own testing strategy within a modern data platform programme.
