Employment Advisor

The Growth Company (GC) is seeking an Employment Advisor to support delivery of the Pathways to Work Programme, helping unemployed individuals progress into employment, training and education. You will provide tailored guidance and training interventions, working closely with referral partners, local employers and support agencies to ensure participants gain the skills, confidence and opportunities needed to move forward. Through both one‑to‑one and group activities, you will help people overcome barriers and achieve positive, sustained outcomes.

This role offers a starting salary of £26,500 which will increase to £29,500 upon successful completion of probation.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate and deliver advice, guidance and training interventions for unemployed individuals.
2. Work with referral partners including Jobcentre Plus, local authorities, colleges and training providers.
3. Deliver one‑to‑one and group sessions such as assessments, inductions, job search and follow‑up appointments.
4. Identify individual learning needs and plan appropriate training or interventions.
5. Support participants to overcome barriers, update CVs and access digital job search tools.
6. Maintain accurate records, ensure data security and report safeguarding concerns.
7. Prepare resources that support learning and evaluate training sessions.
8. Contribute to wider team activity including new service development and tender support.

About You:

9. Experience working within sales, customer service or the welfare‑to‑work sector.
10. Able to work in a high‑performance, target‑driven environment.
11. Confident delivering one‑to‑one support and facilitating group learning.
12. Skilled in managing a varied caseload and prioritising effectively.
13. Flexible, proactive and able to engage people through a range of communication methods.
14. Motivated, confident and able to challenge constructively when needed.
15. Strong understanding of unemployment‑related barriers and how to address them.
16. Committed to promoting positive outcomes and supporting individuals to progress.

Skills Required:

17. Strong IT capability including MI systems, spreadsheets, email and secure data handling.
18. Ability to work as part of a team and build partnerships with external agencies.
19. Knowledge of the local labour market, recruitment methods and growth sectors.
20. Understanding of welfare‑to‑work programmes and customer needs.
21. Good knowledge of training, education and employment opportunities.
22. Strong organisation, time‑management and administrative accuracy.
23. Effective problem‑solving and negotiation skills.
24. Ability to work to KPIs and challenging targets while maintaining quality.
