Job Description
Project Controls & Cost Management
1. Lead the financial control of multiple construction projects, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cost-to-complete assessments.
2. Develop, monitor, and update project budgets, ensuring alignment with contract requirements and company objectives.
3. Track and report project performance metrics (cost, schedule, earned value, productivity).
4. Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and executives to provide actionable financial insights and support decision-making.
5. Review project contracts, change orders, and subcontract agreements to ensure proper financial treatment and risk management.
6. Prepare monthly project cost reports, work-in-progress (WIP) schedules, and margin analysis for senior leadership.
General Accounting & Financial Reporting
7. Support the month-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements.
8. Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
9. Assist with cash flow management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll review as needed.
10. Participate in audits, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with internal and external requirements.
11. Contribute to the development of financial policies, procedures, and controls to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Leadership & Collaboration
12. Serve as a financial advisor to project teams, ensuring costs are managed effectively and risks are identified early.
13. Provide training and mentorship to junior staff in project controls and accounting best practices.
14. Partner with General Manager to improve forecasting models, reporting tools, and internal controls.
