Interim Financial Controller (FC) Location: Marlow (4 days onsite) Rate: £425 per day (Inside IR35) Contract: Interim - Immediate Start I am currently supporting a business in Marlow with the appointment of an Interim Financial Controller to join on a true cover basis. This is a hands-on role requiring an experienced finance professional who can step in quickly and ensure continuity across the accounting function. This position will suit a technically strong Financial Controller or Accounting Operations Manager with experience in fast-paced, operational environments. Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll accounting, fixed assets, and general ledger Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and Trial Balance submissions to Group Lead statutory accounts preparation and support tax compliance requirements Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring audit readiness and strong documentation Oversee costing processes including standard costing, BOM reviews, and annual cost roll Manage treasury activities including cash flow forecasting and banking relationships Review UK VAT returns and payroll-related reconciliations Maintain and strengthen internal controls and support internal audit activity Drive process improvements to support a high-volume, growing business Act as a key finance partner to stakeholders across the organisation Candidate Requirements Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior accounting operations role Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS and/or US GAAP Experience preparing statutory accounts and managing audits Experience working in a fast-paced, operational environment Strong leadership experience, with the ability to manage and develop teams Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Confident communicator with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders Able to work autonomously and deliver in a fast-paced environment Additional Information This is a high-impact role with full ownership of the finance function during a period of transition Requires a hands-on approach and the ability to hit the ground running 4 days per week onsite in Marlow is required If you are an experienced Financial Controller available at short notice and looking for your next interim opportunity, please apply or get in touch for further details.
