The role
Interim Financial Controller (FC)
Location: Marlow (4 days onsite)
Rate: £425 per day (Inside IR35)
Contract: Interim - Immediate Start
I am currently supporting a business in Marlow with the appointment of an Interim Financial Controller to join on a true cover basis. This is a hands-on role requiring an experienced finance professional who can step in quickly and ensure continuity across the accounting function.
This position will suit a technically strong Financial Controller or Accounting Operations Manager with experience in fast-paced, operational environments.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll accounting, fixed assets, and general ledgerManage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timelinessPrepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and Trial Balance submissions to GroupLead statutory accounts preparation and support tax compliance requirementsCoordinate internal and external audits, ensuring audit readiness and strong documentationOversee costing processes including standard costing, BOM reviews, and annual cost rollManage treasury activities including cash flow forecasting and banking relationshipsReview UK VAT returns and payroll-related reconciliationsMaintain and strengthen internal controls and support internal audit activityDrive process improvements to support a high-volume, growing businessAct as a key finance partner to stakeholders across the organisationCandidate Requirements
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior accounting operations roleStrong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS and/or US GAAPExperience preparing statutory accounts and managing auditsExperience working in a fast-paced, operational environmentStrong leadership experience, with the ability to manage and develop teamsExcellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skillsConfident communicator with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholdersAble to work autonomously and deliver in a fast-paced environmentAdditional Information
