Resource Base Teaching Assistant

Hours: Full time: 8:30am-3:30pm
Salary: £90-110 per day
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate Resource Base Teaching Assistant to join our team, supporting primary-aged children with complex needs within our specialist resource base. This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and committed to helping children achieve their full potential.
You will work closely with class teachers, SENCOs and families to support pupils with a range of needs, which may include autism, communication and interaction difficulties, sensory needs, physical disabilities, and social, emotional, and mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored support to Primary aged children with complex needs, both individually and in small groups
* Support learning, communication, emotional regulation, and personal care where required
* Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs), behaviour support plans, and therapy programmes
* Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
* Support pupils’ independence, social skills, and engagement in school life
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals
* Observe, record, and report on pupil progress and wellbeing

* Has experience working with children with SEND, particularly complex needs (desirable but not essential)
* Is patient, empathetic, and resilient
* Can build positive, trusting relationships with children
* Able to work effectively as part of a team
* Has good communication skills and a flexible, proactive approach
* Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
