As part of our continued growth and commitment to operating responsibly,Palace Chemicals is recruiting for a new Head of Health, Safety & Compliance.
This is a key strategic position responsible forleading our health, safety, regulatory and environmental compliance strategy, whilemanaging direct reportsand working closely with colleagues across manufacturing, technical and leadership teams.
We are looking for aproactive, motivated individualwho can drive continuous improvement, continue the journey of our safety culture, and ensure our operations meet the highest standards of regulatory and environmental compliance.
Responsibilities
* • Lead and develop the company’sHealth, Safety & Compliance strategyacross our manufacturing operations
* •Manage and support direct reportsresponsible for HSE and regulatory compliance
* • Act as the organisation’sappointed competent person for Health & Safety
* • Ensure compliance with relevantchemical, environmental and safety regulationsincluding frameworks such as REACH, CLP, GHS and ISO standards
* • Overseeregulatory documentation and compliance systems, including Safety Data Sheets (SDS), chemical inventories and regulatory reporting
* • Driveenvironmental and sustainability initiatives, including carbon reduction strategies
* • Manage and reportScope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissionsin support of corporate sustainability goals
* • Leadrisk assessments, audits and inspectionsrelating to chemical safety, hazardous materials and environmental impact
* • Act as the keyliaison with regulatory authorities, certification bodies and sustainability organisations
* • Develop and implementpolicies, procedures and trainingto strengthen safety, compliance and environmental performance
* • Monitor emerging legislation andadvise leadership on regulatory and best practice changes
Qualifications
✅What we’re looking for
* • Experience acting as an organisation’scompetent person for Health & Safety
* • Proven experience inHealth, Safety, Regulatory or Environmental Compliancewithin a manufacturing environment
* • Strong understanding ofchemical regulations and environmental compliance frameworks
* • Experiencemanaging direct reports and leading compliance initiatives
* • Aproactive, solutions-focused mindsetwith the ability to drive improvements and embed a strong safety culture across the organisation
* Relevant qualifications inchemistry, environmental science, engineering, regulatory affairs or sustainability would be advantageous, along with experience in sustainability reporting, ISO standards or regulatory frameworks.
