Operations Supervisor – Plating & Peening
Role Overview
* Lead and deliver daily Plating and Peening operations, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient surface treatment of landing gear components
* Accountable for throughput, production schedule achievement and on‑time delivery
* Own training, quality, safety, compliance and continuous improvement in line with Part 145 and QEHS requirements
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, organise and control operations to meet safety, quality, cost and delivery targets
* Optimise schedules, capacity and flow to maximise efficiency and throughput
* Identify risks, constraints and bottlenecks, implementing effective recovery plans
* Lead daily tier meetings, handovers, visual management and weekly production reviews
* Manage labour efficiency using ERP data, labour bookings and performance dashboards
* Ensure correct use, calibration and maintenance of all plating and peening equipment
* Maintain excellent housekeeping and environmental control standards
* Identify, justify and support capital and plant investment requirements
People & Culture
* Recruit, onboard, train and performance‑manage operational teams
* Maintain skills matrices, training records and succession plans
* Lead teams positively through change and continuous improvement activities
* Role‑model AEM behaviours and build strong cross‑functional relationships
Safety, Quality & Compliance
* Champion lean, 5S, GEMBA and Kaizen activities
* Proactively manage hazards, unsafe acts and operational risk
* Lead plating‑specific risk assessments and toolbox talks
* Ensure full compliance with Part 145, SMS, Quality and QEHS standards
* Investigate non‑conformances and drive effective corrective and preventative actions
Skills, Experience & Attributes
* Engineering or aerospace manufacturing leadership experience
* Working knowledge of electroplating processes (Chrome, Nickel, Silver, Cadmium)
* Strong lean capability and high digital competence (M365, ERP, Power BI, AI tools)
* Results‑driven, detail‑focused, confident communicator able to perform under pressure
