Senior audit accountant

Due to business growth and expansion, I have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Audit Accountant to join a friendly team in a busy and well-established Chartered Accountants. You will be responsible for working with a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple sectors, in a supportive, forward thinking firm.

Job Description for the role:

1. As the Senior Audit Accountant you will be responsible for planning, execution and completion of audits
2. Oversee and review the work of junior audit staff, providing feedback and guidance
3. As the Senior Audit Accountant you will prepare statutory accounts for a wide range of clients including limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
4. Prepare Tax computations supporting schedules where required
5. As the Senior Audit Accountant you will liaise directly with clients to resolve any queries and maintain strong relationships
6. Ensure all work delivered meets all regulatory, ethical and professional standards
7. Contribute to improving internal processes and supporting the overall development of the audit department

For the role it would be good to see candidates with the following experience:

8. Experience working within an accountancy firm is essential
9. Previous experience in planning, execution and completion of statutory audits for companies and charities is essential for the role
10. Part-qualified ACA/ACCA or qualified by experience
11. Solid understanding of year-end accounts preparation and UK audit procedures; experience in group accounts would be highly advantageous
12. Experience preparing corporation tax and partnership tax computations
13. Confident working directly with clients and managing deadlines
14. Proficient in Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and Microsoft Office
15. Experience with IRIS Accounts, Tax and Practice Management software is desirable
16. Ability to train and support junior team members during audit assignments

Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Salary: £40,000 – £43,000 Per Annum

This role is commutable from: Stoke on Trent, Keele, Newcastle under Lyme, Stafford, Eccleshall, Stone, Hixon and surrounding areas

The role would suit candidates with the following experience: Audit Senior or Audit & Accounts, or Accounts and Audit Senior or Senior Audit Accountant
