About Wiltshire College & University Centre
Wiltshire College & University Centre has four main campuses across the county, located in Chippenham, Lackham, Salisbury and Trowbridge, as well as a specialist motorsport teaching centre at Castle Combe race circuit. Each of our main campuses hostsindustry-standard facilities, modern learning and social spaces and specialist teaching equipment.
The Chippenham campus opened in 2015 following a £21m redevelopment and provides a modern and inspiring environment in which to learn.
With advanced facilities including engineering, automotive and construction workshops, professional hair and beauty salons, IT laboratories and studios for art and design, music and film production, Chippenham offers a diverse and dynamic space for students to refine their skills.
The campus has excellent regional and national transport links as it is located directly across the road from Chippenham railway station and is only a short walk from the town centre.
Lackham Campus
Set in 500 acres of Wiltshire countryside, Lackham is a specialist campus for courses in the business and land-based sectors. A £9m redevelopment project completed in 2021 saw a cutting-edge AgriTech Centre and robotic dairy opened, and a further £2m refurbishment scheme due for completion in summer 2024 will see Lackham House – a magnificent Georgian manor house at the centre of the campus – developed into a modern business centre, including learning spaces and conferencing facilities.
An innovative VR teaching and simulation area is also new and will enable students to develop their skills with agricultural vehicles and machinery in a safe environment. Combining beautiful historic surroundings with an incredible range of new facilities, the site is truly one-of-a-kind in the region.
Salisbury Campus
With more than £20m invested in Salisbury over the past five years, the campus combines inspiring teaching, modern facilities, and a vibrant atmosphere. A substantial proportion of the site’s teaching facilities have been refreshed, including engineering laboratories, construction workshops and film & photography studios. The campus also features engineering, automotive and construction workshops, professional hair and beauty salons, a mock nursery setting, a professional restaurant and the latest development due for completion in summer 2024 will see the opening of an innovative healthcare zone.
Developed in collaboration with Salisbury District Hospital, new facilities will include a hospital training ward, a mock ambulance training facility, a single-bed observation room, a simulated home care environment and an associated teaching room.
Trowbridge Campus
The Trowbridge campus has undergone significant redevelopment in recent years and encourages all students to achieve their potential. A digitalisation project known as ‘Tech Trowbridge’ will provide an advanced environment for the development and promotion of digital technology and skills. It will include the creation of a multi-purpose venue with live streaming and broadcast features capable of hosting theatre performances and eSports competitions, as well as a large flexible workspace featuring collaborative workstations.
Other facilities include a new electric vehicle training centre, hospital training ward, state-of-the-art CAVE (Computer Aided Virtual Environment) learning setting, construction workshops, creative arts studios, and a professional restaurant and salons.
Castle Combe
Castle Combe is home to our purpose-built motorsport learning centre where we deliver bespoke courses at an internationally renowned racetrack in the heart of Wiltshire, preparing students for a career in the exhilarating world of motorsport. It is the first circuit-based motorsport engineering facility of its kind in the UK.

To allow for future succession planning and to ensure that our board is operating efficiently and dynamically we have identified there are some particular areas of expertise that we are keen to engage with the Board – these are;
