Pharmacy Technician RACH Dispensary
Aim: To participate in the delivery of a patient-focused pharmacy service for outpatients and inpatients, including ward-based services, within the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital (RACH) pharmacy dispensary as part of acute pharmacy services within NHS Grampian.
Responsibilities
* Manage dispensary workload and supervise and train dispensary support staff to ensure efficient, economic and safe dispensing service.
* Participate in training and education of ward staff, implement new policies and procedures, and conduct service level audits.
* Participate in the pharmacy department weekend and public holiday rota.
Qualifications
* Qualified General Pharmaceutical Council registered pharmacy technician with relevant and substantial post‑qualification experience.
* Accredited checking technician qualification required; if not held, must be undertaken.
Additional Information
* From 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part‑time hours will reduce pro‑rata; corresponding hourly rate increase will offset the change.
* If this post operates within Aberdeen City Low Emission Zone, the candidate will be responsible for all costs associated with entering the zone.
