Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Thetford Area
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 31 hours per week
Working Pattern: Term-time + 1 week
Pay: £95–£115 per day

We are supporting a friendly and forward-thinking primary setting in the Thetford area, who are looking to welcome a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys taking initiative, supporting learning across year groups, and contributing to a positive school environment.
You may currently be a HLTA looking for a fresh opportunity, or an experienced Teaching Assistant ready to take the next step in your career.
About the Role
The successful candidate will:
* Lead and supervise learning across classes to provide teacher release time.
* Deliver planned activities for individuals, small groups, or short-term whole-class cover.
* Support teaching staff when not leading sessions, including targeted group work.
* Have allocated planning/preparation time built into their weekly timetable.
Skills & Experience Required
We are looking for someone who has:
* Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths (A*–C or equivalent).
* Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
* Level 4 HLTA qualification (or willingness to work towards it).
* Experience supervising or leading whole classes.
* A calm, clear communication style.
* Strong safeguarding awareness.
* The ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
* A dedicated, proactive and aspirational approach.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
