Advanced Pharmacist - Urology, Vascular and Orthopaedics
This role is based at Kent and Canterbury Hospital in Canterbury. We are looking for an experienced Pharmacist to develop the Clinical Pharmacy service, working closely with specialist teams. The position will involve prescribing support for pre‑admission patients and operational oversight of team performance across Urology, Vascular and Trauma & Orthopaedics.
Key responsibilities include:
* Operate as an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist in Surgery across the Trust.
* Serve as the speciality pharmacist for Urology, Vascular and Trauma & Orthopaedics, improving medicines safety.
* Operationally oversee day‑to‑day performance of the surgical team.
* Effectively manage and supervise pharmacists within the surgical team and supervise other pharmacy staff on surgical wards.
* Provide cover for critical care at K&C site when specialist pharmacist is not available.
* Deputise for the Lead Pharmacist for Surgery at Pharmacy and Care Group level when required.
We consider candidates with a band 7 to 8a progression, and the post is suitable for those who may not yet hold a leadership or NMP qualification, as we provide training under Annex 21.
