What you'll need to succeed
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Finance Business Partner to join our Localernment finance team. This is a pivotal role for a CCAB-qualified professional with public sector experience, offering the opportunity to influence and shape financial strategy and service delivery across aplex organisation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Act as the lead expert in your specialist area, providing strategic financial advice and insight to stakeholders.
2. Prepare, plan, and monitor revenue and capital budgets, supporting future service and organisational planning.
3. Deliver high-quality financial reports, management information, and statistical analysis to inform decision-making.
4. Lead onpliance with legislative and regulatory requirements, interpretingplex financial regulations and developing accessible procedures.
5. Design and deliver specialist training to finance and non-finance colleagues, ensuring consistent understanding and application of financial policies.
6. Support funding bids and grant claims, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
7. Drive continuous improvement in financial systems and processes, promoting efficiency and best value.
8. Provide technical expertise to support projects, system development, and financial forecasting.
9. Deputise to the Senior Finance Business Partner or Head of Finance as required.
About YouEssential Experience & Skills:
10. Proven experience in finance and budget setting within a large,plex organisation.
11. Strong track record in delivering financial services, advice, and performance reporting.
12. Ability to interpret and apply financial legislation and regulations.
13. Skilled in preparing budgets, forecasts, and final accounts.
14. Excellentmunication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
15. Proficient in financial systems and Microsoft Office applications.
16. Ability to managepeting priorities and influence oues in a changing environment.
Desirable:
17. Experience in project management and service improvement initiatives.
18. Knowledge of other council service areas and recruitment processes.
Qualifications:
19. Full CCAB qualification ( CIPFA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
20. Evidence of continuing professional development.
21. Significant public sector experience (desirable).
