🧯A hands-on fire safety role where you’re out on site, solving real issues
We’re looking for a Fire Safety Officer to join GMS, working across a large and complex healthcare estate.
This is a role where you won’t be behind a desk – you’ll be out in clinical areas, plant rooms and departments, helping to identify risks, support teams and keep environments safe and compliant.
🔍 What you’ll be doing
Your work will include:
🔹 Carrying out fire risk assessments, inspections and audits
🔹 Supporting fire drills and evacuation planning
🔹 Investigating incidents, near misses and alarm activations
🔹 Advising teams on practical, proportionate fire safety measures
🔹 Delivering training and supporting fire wardens
🔹 Working with Estates and contractors to maintain safe environments
🧠 What we’re looking for
You’ll need to bring:
✔️ Experience in fire safety, estates or a related compliance role
✔️ Confidence in carrying out risk assessments or inspections
✔️ The ability to give clear, practical advice in operational settings
✔️ A proactive, problem-solving approach
✔️ An interest in continuing to develop your technical expertise
