<div><p>University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust</p><h3>Radiographer – Radiology – UK Residents</h3><p><b>Closing date: 30 June 2026</b></p><p>We are looking for an enthusiastic Radiographer to join our friendly team, undertaking a variety of plain film, dental, fluoroscopy, mobile and theatre examinations efficiently and effectively for our patients, adhering to best practice of radiographic technique.</p><p>Working within the Radiology department at FGH provides excellent opportunities to gain experience in a wide range of imaging procedures including trauma, MSK, paediatrics and oncology. The department is equipped with Siemens and Phillips DR rooms and mobiles, single GE image intensifiers and a new GE fluoroscopy suite, with an additional Siemens DR room to be installed in May 2026.</p><p>The department carries out a full range of investigations, including MR, CT, US and SPECT imaging. PACS was installed in April 2007 and updated in 2017.</p><p>Applications from final year students are welcome.</p><p>This is a progressive directorate that supports CPD and role development.</p><h3>Main duties of the job</h3><ul><li>Professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of professional and clinical work.</li><li>Assess patients’ physical, mental, emotional or spiritual needs and adjust technique accordingly.</li><li>Adapt protocols, procedures and techniques according to the patient’s clinical condition.</li><li>Ensure patients understand the examination and obtain valid informed consent, including for those with communication difficulties.</li><li>Input data accurately into the Radiology Information System and maintain correct information.</li><li>Conduct examinations and work practices in a professional and appropriate manner.</li><li>Provide a written comment on x‑ray appearances to aid the requesting casualty officer, without being responsible for diagnosis.</li></ul><h3>Person Specification</h3><h3>Education and qualifications</h3><ul><li>DCR or BSc Radiography, HPC registration, or final‑year radiography student.</li><li>Evidence of CPD.</li></ul><h3>Experience</h3><ul><li>Experience in a wide range of radiographic techniques and equipment.</li></ul><h3>Skills, Ability and Knowledge</h3><ul><li>Computer skills.</li><li>Flexible to meet the needs of the service.</li><li>Good interpersonal skills.</li></ul><h3>Personal Qualities</h3><ul><li>Highly motivated.</li><li>Ability to work under pressure.</li><li>Ability to organise.</li></ul><h3>Disclosure and Barring Service Check</h3><p>This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and requires a Disclosure and Barring Service check for any previous criminal convictions.</p><p>Salary: £32,073 to £39,043 a year pro rata.</p></div>
