What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be the go-to person for everything growing-related on site, working closely with the Growing Director and Operations Manager to keep standards high and performance even higher.
* Owning climate control, irrigation and crop steering to get the very best out of every plant
* Monitoring crop performance and making smart, timely adjustments
* Working closely with IPM teams to keep crops healthy and thriving
* Leading from the front - regular crop walks, supporting team leaders, and guiding growers
* Managing and developing 1–2 growers, helping them step up their game
* Keeping detailed crop records, forecasts and reports (without letting it take over your day)
* Contributing to cropping strategy and longer-term planning
* Making sure energy, water and inputs are used as efficiently as possible
* Playing a key role in weekly planning and decision-making meetings
In short - you’ll have real influence over how the site performs.

What I’m Looking For
You’re likely already a Senior Grower or an experienced Grower ready to step up, with:
* Strong experience in protected cropping (cucumbers ideal, tomatoes or peppers also relevant)
* Confidence managing climate, irrigation and crop strategy
* A practical, hands‑on approach — you’re visible in the glasshouse, not just behind a laptop
* Leadership ability — someone people listen to and learn from
* Good data awareness (you can interpret numbers and act on them)
* A proactive mindset — spotting issues early and taking ownership
