The Kitchen Porter will ensure that the kitchen, including all kitchen equipment and utensils, and outlying areas are thoroughly cleaned and maintained to the highest standard at all times.
The role operates on a shift-based system, including evening and weekend working in line with the seasonal needs of the business.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* Ensure that the kitchen and wash-up areas are clear at all times and that all clean items are placed neatly in the appropriate place in the kitchen.
* Clear and wash up dishes and kitchen equipment as required.
* Ensure that all kitchen equipment is thoroughly cleaned and stored correctly to minimise breakages.
* Immediately clean up all breakages and spillages to prevent accidents.
* Assist the Chefs with food preparation and food service as instructed.
* Maintain general cleaning of the kitchen, adhering to the cleaning schedule and ensuring the highest levels of health and hygiene standards in line with company guidelines.
* Ensure compliance with relevant health & safety and equality of opportunity legislation, as well as best practices outlined in company policies and procedures.
* Perform any other duties reasonably directed by the Head Chef or other management team members.
Key Criteria and Skills:
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Positive and flexible approach to work, including weekend shifts.
* Proof of eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
