Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic team on a regenerative farm near Chipping Norton. This is a unique opportunity to work in a beautiful rural setting, supporting our in-house chef in a busy catering kitchen that makes the most of seasonal produce straight from the farm.
Key Responsibilities:
Washing and preparing freshly harvested vegetables to a high standard.
Assisting the chef with general food prep duties as required.
Operating and maintaining an industrial dishwasher.
Ensuring the kitchen is kept clean, tidy, and hygienic at all times.
Following food safety procedures and maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
Occasional heavy lifting, such as moving crates of vegetables or kitchen equipment.
Requirements:
Strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.
Physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks, including lifting.
Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety practices.
Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
Have your own transport due to remote location (no public transport available).
Must have the right to work in the UK.
Desirable:
Previous experience in a professional catering kitchen.
Interest in sustainable food systems or farm-to-fork cooking.
Experience working in a rural or farm-based setting.
