Cargo Controller
Location: Hull
Salary: £31,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, rotating daytime shift pattern including earlier and later starts.
The Role
You will support the day-to-day coordination of cargo and equipment movements, ensuring bookings are completed accurately, schedules are monitored, and internal systems are kept up to date.
Key Duties
* Coordinating cargo, equipment and trailer movements
* Updating internal systems with accurate movement information
* Liaising with internal teams, customers, suppliers and external partners
* Monitoring schedules and communicating any changes or delays
* Checking key documentation and following up missing information
* Helping avoid delays, failed collections, storage costs or additional charges
* Supporting the wider operations team with planning and coordination activity
* Escalating operational issues and helping resolve problems quickly
* Maintaining accurate records across internal systems and spreadsheets

Previous experience in:
* Logistics
* Transport
* Freight
* Shipping
* Import/export
* Customer service
* Administration
* Planning or coordination
You do not need direct experience in this exact type of role, but you must be organised, accurate, willing to learn, comfortable using systems and able to work in a fast‑paced operational environment.
