Our stunning care home, Wilmslow Manor Care Centre, is a purpose-built facility located in Wilmslow, Cheshire, 11 miles south of Manchester city centre. The home provides care for 63 residents with diverse needs including residential, nursing, and dementia care. We prioritize safety, comfort, and quality, investing in the latest technology and offering engaging daily activities and gentle exercises to enhance residents' wellbeing. All team members are carefully selected for their warmth and passion, with comprehensive induction and ongoing training provided by our in-house trainers and the New Care Academy. We have maintained a zero agency staff policy for over 4 years, employing a dedicated, permanent team to ensure continuity of care. Staff are paid at or above the national minimum wage.
Due to internal promotion, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Chef to join our team. The role involves working with the Head Chef to deliver high-quality food services that support residents' needs and contribute positively to their experience. The position offers a 40-hour contract at a rate of £14.25 per hour. Shift hours are 07:30-17:30, with alternate weekends off. Please note the start date for this position is July 2025.
Role Responsibilities:
* Present and display menus clearly for residents to understand and choose their meals daily.
* Prepare meals in sufficient quantities, considering dietary, medical, ethnic, and personal preferences.
* Ensure all food is nutritionally balanced, attractively presented, timely served, and in the correct sequence.
* Follow and adhere to company HACCP policies, ensuring full compliance.
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and serving areas, following infection control standards and the Food Standards Act 1999, keeping records of cleaning routines.
* Manage and supervise the kitchen team in the absence of the Head Chef, ensuring quality service delivery.
* Inspire and motivate the team to produce high-standard food.
Skills and Experience Required:
* Experience working during busy meal periods, including breakfast and dinner services.
* Experience in a care home or similar environment.
* Knowledge of specialized diets and service delivery.
* Ability to develop and contribute to a four-week menu plan.
* Ability to complete records demonstrating legal compliance.
