Senior Biomedical Scientist – Haematology
Location: Exeter Hospital, Exeter
Salary: Up to £50,500 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, permanent, full-time
Job Overview
As a Senior Biomedical Scientist in the Haematology department at Exeter Hospital, you will deliver high quality pathology services, manage on‑call duties, perform diagnostic testing, and lead quality management initiatives.
Responsibilities
* Deliver quality pathology services and cover on‑call service out of hours.
* Perform biomedical diagnostic testing, interpretation and reporting, including quality control.
* Support the organisation in validating and assessing new equipment and developing new diagnostic procedures.
* Lead the quality management of the department.
Qualifications
* Registered with the HCPC.
* MSc in Biomedical Science (or equivalent qualification/experience).
* Relevant laboratory experience in multi‑disciplinary biomedical science and significant Haematology (including morphology) experience.
* Good working knowledge of different analytical equipment in a range of techniques.
* Strong customer‑relationship skills and a commitment to high levels of service in a modern pathology laboratory.
* Highly motivated, enthusiastic, able to multi‑task and meet deadlines.
