We are currently seeking an experienced Senior ICT Technician to work across a cluster of schools in the Derby area. Applications are invited from ICT technicians with relevant experience to join our team. Under the guidance of the Regional Head of Digital Services, you will provide excellent IT support and customer service to our schools.
You will be based at a school site, with travel across schools in Derby, so a full driving license and access to a vehicle are essential. The role involves working at schools including (but not limited to) Ivy House School, St Andrews Academy, and St Martins School. Attendance at meetings and training sessions at the Trust’s head office in Kidsgrove, Stoke, will also be required.
The post holder will support Trust-wide IT projects such as network migration for new academies, expansion of the Office 365 platform, and other central systems.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Provide onsite support at schools to assist with project work and cover staff absences.
2. Use the IT Helpdesk effectively to assist end users, prioritize workload, and record activities.
3. Update or create documentation for existing and new systems.
4. Support daily tasks like checking security logs, reviewing email quarantines, and backup logs.
5. Assist with infrastructure elements such as servers and networking devices to ensure network, data, and application security and availability.
6. Contribute to the investigation, design, development, and implementation of new IT systems under senior guidance.
7. Support and develop the Trust's Office 365 tools including SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams for Education.
8. Mentor and support other IT Technicians.
