We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join the culinary team of a beautiful venue in the Highlands. As Sous Chef, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and creative environment, creating exceptional culinary experiences for guests. Live in available if needed.
Responsibilities:
* Assist the Head Chef in managing all aspects of the kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.
* Oversee and participate in the preparation, cooking, and plating of menu items in accordance with established recipes and guidelines.
* Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring a smooth workflow and adherence to culinary standards and health/safety regulations.
* Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and seasonal specials, considering guest preferences and dietary restrictions.
* Monitor food inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain proper stock rotation to minimize waste and maximize freshness.
* Uphold a positive and professional work environment, fostering teamwork and open communication.
Qualifications:
* Previous experience as a Sous Chef or an equivalent role in a busy hotel or restaurant
* Strong culinary skills and a thorough knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
* A passion for food and a creative approach to menu development.
* Ability to lead and motivate a team, providing guidance, training, and support.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to maintain a safe working environment.
* Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
