Role Overview
Derbyshire County Council is seeking an experienced Emergency Planning Officer to support the delivery of high‑quality emergency planning, preparedness, response and recovery arrangements across Derbyshire.
Responsibilities
* Lead emergency planning projects and workstreams in line with the Civil Contingencies Act 2004.
* Provide professional advice on resilience and business continuity.
* Develop and maintain emergency plans and contribute to training and exercises.
* Participate in the emergency planning on‑call rota and work closely with partners through the Derbyshire Resilience Partnership.
Qualifications
* Significant experience in emergency planning or resilience work.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure in a multi‑agency environment.
* Relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience (essential).
