Support Worker
LOCATION: Penryn
HOURS: 22.5 per week (3 days on a rolling rota, Mon–Sun, 8am–9pm)
Salary: £15.34 PAYE + Holiday
DURATION: Temporary (Approx. 3 months, ASAP – End of August)
START DATE: ASAP
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Support Worker to join our Adults and Families service.
In this role, you will support individuals with complex needs, including challenging behaviour linked to mental ill health and alcohol or substance misuse. This is a rewarding opportunity where you’ll help customers work towards stability, independence, and improved wellbeing in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support individuals with complex needs through person-centred approaches
Assist with support planning and delivery of tailored interventions
Carry out risk assessments and manage risk in line with procedures
Build positive, professional relationships with customers
Maintain accurate records and use internal systems effectively
Work both independently (including lone working) and as part of a team
Respond calmly and effectively in challenging situations About You
Essential Skills & Experience:
Understanding of support needs and support planning
Experience in risk assessment and risk management
Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport
Good IT and record-keeping skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexible and adaptable approach to work
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Resilient, with a positive and professional attitude Additional Information
Enhanced DBS check required

Experience supporting individuals with mental health needs and/or substance misuse is highly desirable
