Wolverhampton & Tettenhall HC are looking for a Ladies Head Coach to run our Wednesday evening coaching sessions.
The successful candidate would not be expected to regularly attend matches on a Saturday, but a commitment to watch the first team play at least 3 times per season is a must.
This season, we are adding a 5th team to the ladies squads, which will be a development team for our up-and-coming juniors working alongside some experienced senior players. We aim to retain our current league positions across the ladies section, close the gap between the 1st and 2nd teams, and develop a strategic plan to strengthen the ladies section and facilitate junior progression into senior teams.
The successful candidate will be invited to outline their ideas on achieving these goals. We are a welcoming and sociable hockey club, seeking enthusiastic coaches to help us strengthen, develop, and nurture our teams and junior players within the Ladies’ ranks.
Responsibilities:
1. Plan and implement a pre-season training programme including fitness, training sessions, and friendlies.
2. Plan and run engaging, challenging training sessions to develop and strengthen squads.
3. Collaborate with coaches and club leadership to promote development and attract new players.
4. Monitor performance and commitment, providing feedback at team and individual levels.
If interested, there are additional coaching positions available within the club that can be undertaken alongside this role.
Candidates should preferably hold a Level 2 UK coaching qualification or be eager to work towards it, and must be eligible to work in the UK.
Pay will be discussed upon enquiry and will depend on qualifications and experience. The club can provide financial support for further coaching qualifications. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a DBS check.
