Overview
Permanent position, paid annual leave. Support worker required for a female client in her 60s with ME/CFS (myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome), anxiety, and EMF sensitivity. This role provides psychological and practical support to help the client recognise her limits, plan activities within those limits, schedule rest, and manage technology use. The aim is to support the client in managing CFS and implementing the plan.

* Collaborate with the client and employer to create and follow a plan that recognises her limits and tasks within those limits.
* Help schedule rest periods and minimise time spent on technology when appropriate.
* Provide shopping and other tasks outside the client’s home as needed (driver experience preferred).
* Occasionally assist with tasks such as shopping and IT support. Familiarity with Apple technology is advantageous to assist with iPad-related tasks, focusing on enabling the client to spend less time on the device rather than teaching her how to use it.
* Respect social distancing requirements when applicable (some mask wearing may be required).
Qualifications and Requirements
* Some knowledge of ME/CFS is required and experience is essential.
* PVG membership is essential; applicants not currently a PVG member will be asked to join.
