Pay and hours
Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from £12.45 per hour; this increases to £13.66 for stores inside the M25. For all hours worked between midnight and 6am you will receive an additional night premium of £2.35 per hour. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
Hours policy
It’s our policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week. If you’d like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) we have opportunities for this too. You’ll usually be scheduled with 3 weeks’ notice of your shifts.
Availability
Availability windows are used to schedule contracted hours. We are flexible if your available times are close to, but not exactly, the advertised times.

Responsibilities
* Knowing your customers and serving them with passion and pride; giving great natural service.
* Being passionate and knowledgeable about the products and services within the store.
* Working across the store in service, picking and replenishment areas where required.
* Applying training to ensure safe, effective service and customer satisfaction.
* Making decisions that meet customer needs and delivering store routines accordingly.
* Participating in seasonal, community and charity events to create an inclusive atmosphere.
* Understanding store performance and collaborating to drive service, sales, reduce waste and deliver profit.
* Handling products with care to maintain quality and ensure they reach customers in good condition.
* Living Tesco values, being welcoming, and following policies.
* Occasionally accepting deliveries into the store.
