The Role
As a Product Safety Lead, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will have the opportunity to establish and drive implementation of safety processes across our full suite of products and services that we support.
Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for the management of the Product Safety Management System (PSMS) and providing support to project teams adherence to it as well as:
1. Serve as the primary point of contact for all product safety matters, ensuring compliance and effective communication across teams.
2. Develop, implement, and manage the Product Safety Management System (PSMS) and associated safety artifacts, including safety case reports and hazard analyses.
3. Conduct and oversee safety assessments such as Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
4. Collaborate with Product Safety Leads to share insights, best practices, and drive continuous improvement in safety measures.
5. Represent and facilitate Babcock’s Product Safety Review Board, monitoring performance and recommending enhancements to safety processes.
This position involves travel/working across a range of internal and customer sites, as a requirement of the role. This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Essential Experience of the Product Safety Lead
6. A good knowledge and experience of mechanical or electrical engineering principles.
7. Significant experience in risk management and the development and application of safety management policy and process.
Qualifications for the Product Safety Lead
8. A degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate engineering field.
