Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Veterinary Surgeon to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for animal care and welfare, with the ability to perform a variety of surgical and medical procedures. This role requires strong communication skills, as you will be working closely with pet owners and veterinary staff to provide the highest standard of care.
Duties
* Conduct thorough examinations of animals to diagnose health issues
* Perform surgical procedures, including routine and emergency surgeries
* Administer anaesthesia and monitor patients during surgery
* Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans for various conditions
* Maintain accurate medical records for each patient
* Collaborate with veterinary nurses and support staff to ensure efficient clinic operations
* Educate pet owners on preventative care, nutrition, and post-operative care
* Stay updated on advancements in veterinary medicine and participate in continuing education
Qualifications
* A degree in Veterinary Medicine recognised by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS)
* Proven veterinary experience, particularly in surgical procedures
* Laboratory experience is advantageous for diagnostic purposes
* Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with clients and team members
* Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
* A compassionate approach towards animals and their owners
