The Role
As a Town Planner, you’ll assist in managing planning applications from inception to determination, conduct research and site appraisals, and prepare planning statements and supporting documentation. You’ll also liaise with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparing, submitting, and managing planning applications and appeals
* Conducting planning research and site appraisals to inform project strategies
* Preparing planning statements, design and access statements, and supporting reports
* Liaising with clients, local authorities, and other consultants
* Attending site visits, public consultations, and client meetings
* Supporting senior planners in managing key projects and business development initiatives
About You
The successful Town Planner will have a proactive, positive attitude and a strong understanding of the UK planning system. You’ll be confident in handling multiple projects and keen to develop both your technical and client‑facing skills.
Requirements
* RTPI accredited degree or postgraduate qualification
* MRTPI status or actively working towards chartership
* 2–4 years of relevant experience (private or public sector)
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong organisational and project management abilities
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
