About the role: We have an exciting opportunity for are looking for an Accommodation Manager to join the team based in Oxford at our Harcourt Hill Campus. You'll be responsible for managing the residential student accommodation service and ensuring we provide a safe, supportive and consistently good residential experience for students that complies with all relevant legislation. You'll manage a team of residential wardens and an administration assistant, including recruitment, performance management and training as well as creating rotas to ensure student safeguarding is effectively covered. Part of managing an effective service will be ensuring that students are safe and well supported and have their individual welfare needs met through working collaboratively with Faculty colleagues, Student Support and Learning Support. As part of our residential provision we also aim to support students personal development through planning and organising a regular programme of social and recreational activities through the warden team. This is a fixed-term, full-time role working until July 2026 with the potential to extend the contract. What do you need to be successful as an Accommodation Manager at Activate Learning? You must have experience of managing residential accommodation provision and of successfully planning, managing, monitoring and reporting management information. It's important you're experienced recruiting and developing staff. The right candidate will have excellent communication skills, be highly organised, literate, and have excellent attention to detail. You will be competent in the use of IT to support the business processes – for example, MS Office, especially Word, Google docs and MS 365 is essential. You should have an understanding of the National Minimum Standards of Accommodation for Students under 18 in FE Colleges, as well as relevant safeguarding guidance like Keeping Children Safe in Education.
