Team Leader - Registered Children's Home
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Flexible contracts available (40, 30 or 20 hours per week) including evenings, weekends and unsocial hours on a rota basis
Salary: £35, per annum (based on 40 hours), increasing annually with length of service
We are seeking two experienced Team Leaders to join a registered children's residential service within a community-based care setting. The role involves leading a team to support children and young people with additional needs to live safe, meaningful, and fulfilling lives.
The Team Leader will play a key role in providing therapeutic, trauma-informed care, ensuring that social, emotional, developmental, and daily living needs are met within a structured and nurturing environment. The post requires a strong commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional practice.
Essential Criteria
1. Degree or Level 5 qualification in a relevant discipline ( Social Work, Nursing, Psychology, Youth Work, Health & Social Care)
2. Registered with, or willing to register with, NISCC or relevant professional body
3. Minimum 1 year's experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, or behaviours that challenge
4. Experience working within a residential care setting
5. Ability to lead, motivate, and support staff
6. Strong communication, organisational, and decision-making skills
7. Commitment to confidentiality, safeguarding, and ethical practice
8. Flexibility to work a rota including evenings, weekends, and sleepovers
9. Eligibility to work in the UK and successful Enhanced Access NI check
Desirable
10. Experience managing or supervising staff
11. Training in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) or crisis intervention
12. Knowledge of residential childcare regulations and safeguarding standards
