The Highways Maintenance Inspector will be part of the Highway Asset Management Team acting as the Local Highway Authority within City of York Council highway boundary. Your key duties will be carrying out highway inspections and keeping the highway network safe for the travelling public. This will involve driving and walking the city network on a regular basis and requires mobile working using electronic systems to survey and record actionable defects. Once defects are identified you will issue works orders and work closely with Operational Repair Gangs and Site Agents to rectify these defects. The job is varied and has many career routes via apprenticeships and continued professional development.
