As a Senior Financial Accountant, you’ll be part of our Central Functions team, supporting our customer-facing colleagues to deliver exceptional service and care. You’ll play a key role in our Record to Report team, helping ensure our financial processes are accurate, compliant, and insightful. It’s a chance to do meaningful work that supports our mission and makes a real difference every day.
How you’ll help us make health happen
In this role, you’ll lead and support a range of financial activities, including:
1. Consolidating and reconciling monthly financial accounts for specific business units.
2. Working closely with accounting experts to apply policies and standards accurately.
3. Leading submissions for Group and industry reporting, including IFRS and Solvency II.
4. Reviewing balance sheets and cashflows, preparing reporting packs with clear insights.
5. Supporting uploads to Tagetik (actuals and forecasts) and ensuring alignment with Group instructions.
6. Reviewing non-technical provisions and ensuring accurate period-end reporting.
7. Managing capitalisation and depreciation of fixed assets in line with policy.
8. Supporting year-end financial and statutory returns with audit-ready documentation.
9. Driving continuous improvement in reporting processes and financial controls.
Key skills/responsibilities needed for this role
We’re looking for someone who’s technically strong, detail-oriented, and ready to take ownership. You’ll need:
10. A professional accounting qualification (ACCA or CIMA) would be beneficial or qualified by experience as an Accountant is essential
11. Strong technical accounting and analytical skills, including IFRS and Solvency II experience.
12. Experience in financial and management accounting within a complex organisation.
13. Confidence working under pressure and managing competing deadlines.
14. Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and financial systems (e.g. PeopleSoft, Tagetik, Oracle).
15. A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a drive for continuous improvement.
16. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
