About the Role
Hurworth House is recruiting a cook to join our catering team. We seek passionate individuals who can promote healthy eating and prepare varied meals that meet care standards and contribute to the wellbeing of our Children and Young People. Responsibilities include cooking, menu planning, shopping, adhering to budgets, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety in the kitchen.

About Hurworth House School
We provide specialist education for boys and girls with SEMH difficulties and autism, accommodating up to 80 students aged 5 to 19. Our staff are highly trained and experienced in supporting our children, many with co-morbid diagnoses. The school features a primary provision and separate middle and upper schools.
Candidate Requirements
We require a Level 3 qualification or equivalent, along with previous experience in meal preparation in a professional kitchen. Essential characteristics include:

* Organisation: Confidently manage menus, dietary requirements, and relevant reporting.
* Attentiveness: Be attentive to individual needs to support our young people effectively.
