Sales Assistant at Majestic Wine Newbury.
Role
As a Sales Assistant you’ll be supporting your store team with driving sales performance and the day-to-day running of the store. You’ll deliver exceptional customer service and experience to optimise KPI performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Drive store performance by maximising sales opportunities, supporting the team to meet and exceed targets through focusing on KPI delivery.
* Deliver exceptional market‑leading customer service to drive business growth through customer loyalty and repeat purchases.
* Provide a VIP concierge service, actively contacting customers with updates on products and tastings.
* Sell the story not the discount, demonstrating passion for the product with in-depth knowledge of the range.
* Take ownership of wine knowledge, constantly learning about products to support WSET qualification confidence.
* Take accountability for the physical appearance and maintenance of the store both internally and externally.
* Participate in all operational tasks required for day‑to‑day running of a Majestic Wine store – from delivering wine to customers, merchandising stock deliveries to calling customers to drive sales opportunities.
* Continuously identify opportunities to improve operational performance, sharing ideas back to the team for joint implementation.
* Remain fully compliant, safe and legal by following internal policies, processes and completing mandatory training.
* Serve as a role model for Majestic’s Ways of Working, supporting junior team members and providing feedback to the Store Manager.
* As a key holder, understand opening and closing compliance and confidently operate the store independently.

* Wine knowledge beneficial; passion to learn more is essential to pass level 2 WSET wine qualifications.
* Hold a full UK manual driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points.

Job Specifics
* Contract: Permanent.
* Hours: 40 hours per week.
* Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
* Driving is a key part of the position; must hold a full UK manual driving licence held for at least 12 months.
