About Coco di Mama
We launched our first Coco store in Fleet Street back in 2011. Our sole mission was to become the nation’s most loved Italian-to-go, and we haven’t slowed down since. Today, you’ll find Coco in 14 London locations, 140 delivery kitchen outlets nationwide, over 800 Sainsbury’s stores, and even in service stations across the country. With ambitious growth plans ahead, including new flagship stores (hello Kings Cross), potential refurbishes and exciting partnerships, it’s a really great time to join us!
At Coco, we’re known for doing things differently. Our menus are high-quality and constantly evolving, our tone is modern and bold, and our brand is rooted in generosity, whether that’s how we treat our customers, our teams, our partners or the planet.
Coco di Mama is part of the Azzurri Group, alongside Zizzi, ASK Italian, Boojum and Dave’s Hot Chicken, giving us the best of both worlds: the energy and creativity of a growing brand, with the backing of a larger family.
At Coco, we are genuinely passionate about sustainability and our impact on the community. We’re a Living Wage employer committed to diversity, inclusion, and growing talent from within. We’ve supported Pride for over six years and are proud of our track record on internal progression. Sustainability is core to our mission — we’re aiming for Zero Carbon by 2040 and continue to improve how we operate. Over half our menu is plant-based and low carbon, and we prioritise ethical sourcing and meaningful partnerships that give back.
If you’re looking to work with a dynamic, purpose-driven brand that values design, creativity, innovation and sustainability, you’ll feel right at home here.

* To ensure all campaigns are executed to a high standard and materials are delivered on time.
* To be the guardian of Coco di Mama’s brand guidelines, ensuring they are adhered to consistently across the business
* This role will be perfect for a designer who likes variety and to see their work in the flesh and directly see the impact they are having on the brand. No two days will be the same as you switch between designing a printed poster for a menu campaign, to a digital banner for a delivery platform, to an animated GIF for email comms, to designing packaging for a new product launch, or a sales pitch document for working with a new partner.
Key Responsibilities
You'll play a central role in shaping Coco’s visual identity across every channel, from in-store to online. Here’s what you’ll be getting stuck into:
* Lead the creative for seasonal campaigns - take briefs from concept through to final artwork, including developing campaign ideas, photography briefing, and delivery of all final assets.
* Own lifestyle photography - shoot high-quality stills for social media, digital platforms, menus, and marketing campaigns. You’ll plan, style, shoot, and edit imagery that aligns with our brand tone and standards.
* Collaborate on smaller campaigns throughout the year, contributing fresh creative concepts and smart visual thinking.
* Design digital assets across a range of platforms - including in-store screens (kiosks, menu boards), social media content, GIFs, web graphics, banners, emails and more. This includes light animation (text and graphic motion) to bring campaigns to life.
* Own and evolve our brand guidelines, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints, and keeping things sharp, relevant, and on-brand.
* Manage product imagery - edit and optimise for use across kiosks, website, and delivery platforms.
* Identify opportunities to elevate our design, keeping us visually ahead of the curve with creative, on-trend work.
* Deliver accurate, print-ready artwork for in-store materials (A-boards, posters, menus) and store-specific needs (flyers, banners, etc).
* Own the photography process - from writing briefs to managing shoots and liaising with photographers.
* Update digital menu boards, ensuring pixel-perfect layouts and accurate formatting across stores.
* Design, develop and refine packaging artwork - including retail packaging, ensuring it’s creative, practical, and always on-brand, from coffee cups to pasta boxes.
* Liaise with print suppliers to manage production, ensuring all printed materials are of the highest quality.
* Create custom icons and illustrations for various campaigns and in-store applications (e.g. window vinyls, seasonal graphics).
* Proof your own work to ensure everything is polished, accurate and high-quality.
* Support other teams with branded content - from HR posters to kitchen process templates and beyond.
Skills and experience
* At least 3 years of design experience, ideally with time spent in an in-house team.
* Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills, especially InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro and Adobe XD.
* Fully Apple Mac literate and comfortable using design tools at a high level.
* Excellent project management skills - able to juggle multiple deadlines and deliver consistently on time.
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret and follow briefs with care.
* Experience working in-house is desirable.
* Strong photography skills - including styling, shooting, and editing content for digital channels (especially food/product/lifestyle photography).
* Illustration and drawing ability are a nice bonus.
* Awareness of customer behaviour and market trends, especially in the food, lifestyle, or retail space.
* A commitment to high standards, quality control and brand consistency.
* Degree-educated or equivalent professional experience in graphic design or a related field.
* A genuine passion for design, food, drink and Italian culture - because that’s what we’re all about.
At Coco, we believe that a diverse and inclusive team is essential to building great relationships and connections and, ultimately, a better business.
If you're passionate, want to make a positive impact and share our values, we would love to hear from you!
